Potomac Health Foundation (PHF) welcomes you to its redesigned website. New features and menus have expanded PHF’s ability to share news and resources, to showcase achievements and best practices, and to communicate more directly through social media. One of PHF’s corporate values is to promote continuous growth and development in our board, staff, and community partners. The website is intended to be an effective expression of this value. Potomac Health Foundation is a new private health legacy foundation. It formed when Sentara Healthcare and Potomac Hospital merged in December 2009. Potomac Health Foundation seeks to preserve in perpetuity the legacy and caring embodied in Potomac Hospital over its 37-year history. Since September 2011, when PHF awarded the first grants, it has given grants valued at $10, 783,989 to 65 health-related projects. Projects must serve at least one of the Foundation’s three grantmaking priorities: 1) strengthen access to health are for the underserved – primary, oral or mental health, 2) mitigate the impact of preventable illness and disease, and 3) address emerging health needs with innovative solutions.
