The National Coalition of 100 Black Women Prince William County Chapter, Inc (NCBW/PWCC) held their Culminating Event at the First Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dumfries, Virginia for their Prostate Cancer Project on June 13, 2016.

The event was attended by representatives from the twelve participating churches, local politicians, community leaders, partners and NCBW/PWCC members.  The Prostate Cancer Project’s goal was to raise awareness and educate African American men about prostate cancer in Prince William and Stafford Counties in a culturally competent manner. Over the course of the grant year, NBCW/PWCC held informational sessions at each of the twelve churches, educating over 500 men in the community about prostate cancer. The results of the Prostate Cancer Project left a positive impact in eastern Prince William County by increasing the knowledge of men in the community on prostate cancer and empowering them to make informed decisions about prostate cancer screening. Potomac Health Foundation is very pleased with their positive results and is proud to support their Colon Cancer Project for 2016-2017!
