GMU POISED (Precision Outreach Intervention Surveillance and Exercise) Receives Praises from Participants

George Mason University’s POISED program has been praised for the great work they do in the community. POISED uses a comprehensive model of education and exercise training to increase participants’ strength and heighten awareness of their surroundings. The program includes three meetings a week over 10 weeks. Eight programs are ongoing and include educational workshops about falls prevention, information about how injuries from falls can decrease one’s quality of life and how to make home modifications to decrease the risk of falling. This program is supported by the Potomac Health Foundation.
